A milestone for
Kane in Mauritius

On 12 June, Kane expanded its ability to support investment managers across the full fund lifecycle after being awarded a Management Company (ManCo) licence by the Mauritius Financial Services Commission (FSC). The licence significantly broadens the firm's capabilities in one of the world's leading international financial centres.

The licence enables Kane to provide services across the full investment lifecycle, from entity formation and fund launch through to trading, administration and post-trade support. It also strengthens the firm's international offering alongside its wider operations in Malta, Bermuda and Dubai.

"The Mauritius licence is an important step in the continued expansion of our global platform," says Harish Bhoyroo, Managing Director of Kane Solutions Limited (Mauritius). "Together with our existing operations, it enables us to provide clients with a comprehensive service across many of the world's leading fund jurisdictions."

A full-service capability

Kane Solutions has operated in Mauritius since 2021, when it was granted a Fund Administration Licence by the FSC.

"With the addition of a ManCo licence," he continues, "Kane can now support a broader range of clients, including established fund managers expanding into new markets and emerging firms seeking institutional-grade operational and regulatory infrastructure."

According to Harish, demand for integrated operating models continues to grow across the investment management industry.

"Fund managers are increasingly focused on their core competencies, whether that's investment management or product development," he says. "At the same time, they want to simplify their operating models by reducing the number of service providers they work with. The ability to access administrative, operational and regulatory services through a single provider is becoming increasingly attractive."

A differentiated proposition

The firm's proposition is supported by IMS, Kane's proprietary technology platform, which covers key processes including fund accounting, transfer agency, NAV calculation and investor record-keeping.

"Technology is becoming increasingly central to fund management," says Harish. "A robust, integrated platform is essential to delivering the efficiency, oversight and scalability that clients expect from a modern ManCo. In a highly competitive market, the fact that Kane has a proprietary end-to-end platform is a strong sector differentiator for us."

While Mauritius is home to around 180 management companies, many focus primarily on domestic business and may not have the international reach required to support cross-border fund structures.

Unlike many providers that rely on multiple third-party applications, Kane's proprietary IMS platform provides a single operational environment spanning fund accounting, transfer agency, investor servicing and reporting. This reduces operational complexity while providing greater transparency and scalability.

"We believe our combination of experienced staff, local substance and in-house technology creates a differentiated offering," says Harish. "The new licence enhances our ability to support clients throughout the investment lifecycle and positions Kane strongly for the next phase of growth across the region and beyond."
